A Peace of Mind Product
SelfSafe was developed to fill a need. We noticed a gap in the marketplace. You could find medical information devices and emergency data wearables, but none of them allowed you to store all of the information you’d need in case of an emergency.
We were looking for something like a personal filing cabinet – a single place for all of the important information in your life: medical, personal, financial, travel, emergency numbers, etc.
For example, if you are traveling abroad, you would have backup with you with everything you need — including consulate and embassy phone numbers, credit card information, passport numbers, travel itineraries, hotel and airline reservations, appointments, etc.
All of your medical information in one secure place.
Whether traveling or at home, having your medical information and health history handy can be a lifesaver — and not just for those who suffer from chronic illnesses, life-threatening allergies or other ailments. Cancer patients on an ever-changing treatment plan, people with a history of heart disease, elderly men and women who can’t remember what medications they take — whatever your situation, with SelfSafe, you’ll always have the information you need for your guaranteed health and safety.
The SelfSafe Team
Ed Jacobson, President
Mr. Jacobson has over 50 years experience in healthcare financing, garnering distinction as a thought leader, disruptor and mentor in health benefit plan design, wellness initiatives and preventive care. He founded and served as CEO of the highly-regarded ENTRUST family of companies; providing advice, consulting and planning to thousands of employer group plans throughout the country. After selling that business in 2017, Ed’s passion for bringing viable and cost-effective healthcare solutions to patients remained, so he devoted his efforts to creating SelfSafe: An affordable solution for securing and maintaining immediate access to all vital personal and lifesaving information – anywhere, anytime.
Wayne Citron, Partner and VP/Sales
Wayne is an entrepreneur and founding partner of SelfSafe. He has worked from prototype conception through every part of the process and is now Vice President of Sales. He began his career in the investment industry, spending decades as an independent trader affiliated with the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange. During that time, he ventured into various projects as a teacher and mentor within the financial field, traveling the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia. Through his extensive travels, Wayne realized how vulnerable he could be, in the event of an emergency, when out of touch with his vital information. That was a lightbulb moment when the idea for SelfSafe was born.
Gary Gorson, Partner, VP and CTO
Gary is a founding partner of SelfSafe, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. He brings over twenty years of technology experience and expertise in software engineering, including roles as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in both the private and public sectors.
